Bill Poston

Bill Poston, Class of 1988, is a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist with a 30-year career in business, education, and service. After completing his graduate education, he spent a decade at Deloitte Consulting and then went on to found and grow Kalypso, a global innovation consulting firm. He has since launched and led multiple enterprises, including The Launch Box, a platform that supports founder-led professional service firms, and Muy’Ono Hospitality, which manages award-winning resorts in Belize. Muy’Ono has been recognized internationally for sustainable tourism and community impact. A dedicated educator and mentor, Bill also founded the Housley Principled Leadership Program and has served as its lead professor for the past sixteen years, shaping the next generation of leaders. He currently serves as the Vice Chair of the national nonprofit, Service Year, which advocates for national service programs.  

Known affectionately as “Mr. Texas State,” Bill has devoted decades of service and philanthropy to his alma mater. As a senior, he established the Bill Hogue Memorial Scholarship in memory of a close friend and later co-founded the Stelos Alliance, a nonprofit that supports Texas State students with scholarships, leadership training, and community-building. His deep commitment has also included service on the Alumni Association Board, the Development Foundation Board, the Pride in Action Campaign’s Academic Excellence Pillar, and he is currently on the Development Foundation Emeritus Council. Honored with multiple university awards, including the Alumni Star Award and the Student Foundation Distinguished Alumnus Award, Bill remains a tireless champion of Texas State and its students. His legacy of leadership, generosity, and innovation continues to inspire countless young leaders to reach their potential.
