Scholarship Recipients
Thanks to alumni generosity, the Alumni Association provides scholarships every year. Below are just a few of the students you have helped recently.
Vince Rodea
Class of 2024
Vince Rodea is in his final semester before graduating with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science (ESS) with a minor in Biology. He served as an RA for ESS majors helping incoming students transition to college. Vince also was on the powerlifting team and is the president of the ESS Organization to help connect students within the major.
“Thanks to you, I can focus more on being a better leader without stretching myself thin to pay tuition and bills. I can have meetings, study longer, and foster connections between my peers.”
Attending Texas State is a surreal and fulfilling experience for him and his papa, an alum from '96. After graduation, Vince will return to the Valley to work as a medical assistant while studying for the MCAT.
Samuel Paladino
Class of 2026
Samuel is studying marketing with a minor in mathematics. He is from a family of Bobcats - both his parents are alums and teachers. Born and raised in Canyon Lake, Samuel hopes to become a marketing statistician to help companies learn from customer feedback.
Samuel is inspired by his parents and their ability to help students find their passions through education.
“I am very grateful to receive this scholarship - it really helps me financially. Both of my parents are Texas State alumni and continuing their legacy would be a significant achievement in my life.”
Claire Brenner
Class of 2025
Claire Brenner is a Frisco native starting the Master's program in Human Development and Family Science with a Child Life Specialist concentration. As a child, a medical condition caused her to spend a lot of time in the hospital. A Child Life Specialist provided a warm and nurturing environment for her during that challenging time. Claire hopes to pay it forward one day by providing support and inspiration for children in the hospital.
Claire can't wait to become a 2-time alum after completing her undergrad at Texas State. Her parents both graduated from Texas State, and she takes great pride in being a Bobcat.

Adrian Ramirez
Class of 2026
Adrian Ramirez just finished his first year at Texas State studying Finance and International Business. As a second-generation Bobcat, he is a proud recipient of the Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship.
“This scholarship is such a blessing for me and my family. I can promise you that I will make the most out of this award.”
Adrian is excited to make as many connections as possible during his time at TXST. He believes building relationships can take you a long way in life and can't wait to join the Alumni Association community after graduation.
Amarilisa Perez
Class of 2026
Amarilisa Perez is from Corpus Christi, Texas, and is a freshman studying public relations with a concentration in digital media and a minor in business administration. Perez is a proud student worker at the Student Recreation Center.
"Thank you for supporting this scholarship, this scholarship means a lot to me. It has really helped me and my family so much and it's given us some peace of mind, knowing that there is some support going towards my college tuition and fees. I don't have to work as many hours, and I can focus more on my studies and get more involved on campus with different organizations.”
Haylie Hattermann
Class of 2025
Haylie is a recent TXST grad that will begin the master's program in Communication Disorders this fall. She started undergrad in 2019 and got comfortable on campus just as the pandemic hit. Although it was hard to adjust to everything shutting down, the Bobcat community joined together to come out stronger than before. "I truly could not have asked for a better college experience, even through some of the lowest times for the world."

Ainsley Forbes
Class of 2023
Ainsley Forbes is a senior graduating in May with a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media Innovation and Mass Communication. She was born and raised in Cedar Park, Texas.
"This scholarship has meant a lot to me because it is going to help me further my education and pursue my dreams. Thank you for investing in me and believing in me and that I was deserving of this because it is such an honor. The fact that people who didn't even know me believed in me means a lot to me."
Rose Robertson
Class of 2024
Rose Robertson was born in Oregon and raised in Seguin, Texas. She is a senior studying Biology. She was the valedictorian of her high school class, obtaining her associate's degree through dual credit in high school. Her mother is a Texas State alumnus, and her brother is a current student. Robertson works at the Student Learning Assistance Center (SLAC) as a Supplemental Instruction Leader and helps students in traditionally difficult classes, such as Chemistry II. She sits in on the class as a traditional student and hosts collaborative group study sessions.
"Receiving this scholarship connects me to my family," Robertson said. "Thank you to all the donors who made this scholarship possible. This really means a lot to me."
Sabrina Crayton
Class of 2022
Sabrina Crayton is working towards a Bachelor of Social Work with an anticipated graduation date of December 2022.
“I have four kids, I'm a single mom and it's a struggle in itself. Navigating being a mother and being a student. There are several things I have been through in life. So social work is just kind of natural to me. I chose social work to help other people that have been through what I've been through. This scholarship is why it is possible for me to continue to come to school. Scholarships is how I survive, literally. And I am just so appreciative.”
Landen Dietz
Class of 2025
Landen Dietz, born and raised in Schertz, TX, is a freshman studying Business Marketing. Growing up, he felt that Texas State was like a next-door neighbor. He wanted a place where he could be independent but not too far from home. Dietz only applied to Texas State, and this scholarship made me want to come here.
"There are a lot of scholarship opportunities at Texas State. Thank you for putting your money to good use and supporting my future. This scholarship meant a lot to me, it is a big deal and a lot of help.”
Elisabeth Roach
Class of 2024
Elisabeth Roach has begun her second year as an accounting student. She is the treasurer of the McCoy College Ambassadors, serves as a Peer Mentor, and is a Student Coordinator for the Honors College. When asked what she enjoys about being a student at Texas State, Elisabeth replied, “Texas State has diversity; people that are like me.” Roach currently has a 4.0 GPA and has a goal of being Suma Cum Laude at graduation, all while balancing social, academic, and work life.

Nisha McDonald
Class of 2023
Nisha McDonald is a student studying marketing at the McCoy College of Business. She is a rising professional with six completed internships and an internship with IBM this summer. She is the founder of the Texas State student organization Women's Development Group, involved with Cru, Younglife, and Women of Color Organization.
"I want to provide inclusive environments in the corporate world. I want to provide mobility for women of color. I want to be included in the room and lead," McDonald shared.
"I am extremely appreciative to the donors of this scholarship. Now I can focus on my educational endeavors and career readiness goals. Not everyone gets this privilege, and I am grateful."
Lauryn Tyndall
Class of 2024
Lauryn is a junior studying Exercise and Sports Science with plans to attend TXST's Physical Therapy program after graduation. She hopes to start a PT practice to help people return to normal after an injury.
“There is no way words can express my gratitude for how lucky I am...this scholarship is a way to feel more security throughout the year and know I can get through college on my own."
Brenna Gibbons
Class of 2024
Brenna has a passion for storytelling and journalism. She is studying Electronic Media with the goal of working for a major television news network as a reporter and anchor.
“This scholarship will help me achieve my goals and reach my dreams. I will continue to study hard, learn more, and work toward becoming a reporter and anchor."
Outside of her classes, Brenna is very involved with the Honors College, school news team, Bobcat Update, and holds office with Alpha Gamma Delta.
