Theresa Rodriguez Scepanski
President and Chief Executive Officer
Theresa Rodriguez Scepanski is a respected healthcare leader dedicated to expanding access and improving community wellness. As President and CEO of Community First Health Plans, she leads initiatives that strengthen preventive care, mental health services, and chronic disease management for underserved populations. Since her appointment in 2020, she has advanced impactful community programs, including 50 food pantries, the We Love Our Southside mural, and the Empowering Pathways scholarship programs.
Her collaborative, mission‑driven leadership has earned numerous honors, including the 2025 Stevie Awards Woman of the Year in Healthcare, Modern Healthcare’s Top Diversity Leaders, and the San Antonio Business Journal’s Healthcare Heroes.
Theresa serves on multiple national, state, and local boards, including Chair of Arts In Play, Chair of the State Medicaid Advisory Committee, and Vice Chair of the regional Health Information Exchange. A native San Antonian, she holds degrees from Texas State University and Webster University and began her career with University Health in 1995.
Lauren Costley
Senior Director, Corporate Services & Training and Development
Lauren Costley is a San Marcos native and graduated from San Marcos High School in 1999. She is the Senior Director of the Corporate Services & Training and Development Divisions. Lauren joined Deacon with 11 years of experience in Management, Sales and Marketing, predominantly in the Health and Fitness arena. Lauren graduated from Texas State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications. She was Rookie of the Year in 2013 and was an inductee into the company’s “Million- Dollar Club” in 2017. Her specialties include all levels of professionals in the areas of Human Resources, Operations, Legal, and Executive Administrative support. In 2022, Lauren placed 4th in State in the category of Administrative Support Direct Hire placements for the TSRSA (Texas Search Recruiting Staffing Association).
Lauren is very involved in her community. She currently serves on several boards. Lauren is the President of Executive Women International – San Antonio Chapter. She is on the Board of Trustees for Blood Cancer United – South Texas. Lastly, she serves on board and councils for the Metro SA Chamber. In the past, she has served on committees for the American Heart Association and a local HR chapter SHRM – San Antonio. Lauren also serves as a Mentor to student-athletes at UT San Antonio and has been a speaker at several Universities.
During her time at Texas State, she served as an Anchor for Texas State’s news channel and was a DJ for the Radio Station. Outside of community and her career, she loves to do all things FUN with her two children, family, and lifelong friends! She enjoys yoga, travel, sports, and anything with music. Lauren is dedicated to connecting the best talent with the very best companies in San Antonio!
Eric Cloudt
Senior Director – Security & Emergency Services
San Antonio Water System
As Senior Director of Security & Emergency Services, Eric is accountable for developing, recommending, and implementing policies, programs, and procedures which optimize the overall physical security of SAWS’ critical infrastructure and its employees while ensuring organizational readiness to respond to and recover from emergency situations.
Eric first joined SAWS in 2017 as the Director of Continuous Improvement and Innovation. In 2018, his role was expanded to include the Business Planning functions for the organization, and he served in a project management capacity for the Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMI) Feasibility Assessment. He transitioned into the Senior Director of Safety & Environmental Health in 2019 where he led successful efforts to drive improvements in SAWS’ Safety Culture which enhanced the organization’s commitment to creating safer work environments to ensure the safe return home of our employees.
Prior to joining SAWS, Eric was the Senior Director of Supply Chain for CPS Energy. He had accountability for the Sourcing, Logistics, Fleet, Printing, and Remittance departments for the gas and electric utility. He joined CPS Energy in 2009.
Prior to his work at CPS Energy, Eric enjoyed a successful 10-year career in Automotive Manufacturing with Takata Seat Belts, Inc. and Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems. During his tenure, Eric held various corporate and operational positions in the United States and in Mexico in Accounting, Materials Management, Production Control, Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, and Plant Management.
The Del Rio, Texas, native is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt, a San Antonio Business Journal “40 under 40” Alumni, currently part of Leadership SA Class 50, and he has successfully completed leadership development programs at Our Lady of the Lake University and The North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.
