Adam Long

2026 LBJ Outstanding Senior Student

Adam Long is a Texas State University computer science major who believes leadership is defined not by a title, but by the ability to identify barriers and build bridges.

During his time at TXST, he served in a wide range of roles, including Student Advisor to the Vice President of Information Technology, Student Representative on the US1100 Task Force, and Student Advisor for the Coursera for Students initiative. He also held leadership positions in Student Government as Vice President Pro-Tempore and College of Science and Engineering Senator, where he worked to strengthen the student experience and help make the university better for everyone.

Beyond the classroom and campus governance, Adam made an impact through service and school spirit. As a member of the Gold Star Society, he partnered with the President’s Office to represent Bobcat pride to VIPs and university donors. He also served as captain of TXST Waterski, leading and coaching the team at tournaments across the country while volunteering with Texas Regional Parasport to provide people with disabilities the chance to enjoy waterskiing.

Adam’s Texas State legacy is rooted in lasting institutional change, student advocacy, and community connection. By solving technical challenges, building professional pathways, and creating opportunities for others, Adam leaves Texas State better than he found it.
