#WeMetAtTXST Couple

Amanda and Daniel met in a journalism class in 1988 and worked together in a competition sponsored by McIntosh, a line of personal computers by Apple Computer, Inc. (now Apple). Not only did they help win SWT a cash award and some new computers, but working together on the project sealed their fate. They have lived together in California for 35 years and have a love for San Marcos that will never fade!

#WeMetAtTXST Friends

McKinley, Brandi, and Kaitlyn met working as English tutors for the Student Learning Assistance Center (SLAC) and they instantly connected. Since their time at Texas State, the three have stayed in touch and have been bridesmaids in each other’s weddings!

#WeMetAtTXST Bandmates

Amanda and Nelson met in the Latin Music Studies department as freshman and their friendship grew while performing and competing with Mariachi Nueva Generacion and Salsa Del Rio. Shortly after graduation, they both landed permanent positions with the world-renowned Mariachi Campanas de America. They feel blessed to travel the world playing the music they love!

#WeMetAtTXST Best Friends

Vivian went to Strutters tryouts in the summer of 1978 and met her new friend Shawna, who was already on the team. Vivian eventually made the team, and the pair were both Strutters for two and a half years. Today, they remain best friends and enjoy coming back to Texas State to attend Strutter Alumni events!

#WeMetAtTXST Couple

Prasanna and Palak both came to Texas State from India. Although they are from different states in India and speak different languages, they met at an event and became instant friends. Their friendship grew and they later got married in 2020. They now live in New Jersey with two beautiful children and cherish their time at Texas State!
